Happy Halloween!

Tomorrow is Halloween, but as usual, we Indonesian don't celebrate Halloween, but there are a lot of Halloween parties.

anyway, this post is not about Halloween.

As you may already know from the news, Indonesia currently facing a fire forest crisis. My knitting friend, Dydy, decided to help by selling one of her newest amigurumi pattern the Fire Flames. the profit will be donated for the fire and haze cause.

I think the fire flames are really cute, if only I didn't have the animation project I would make it right now.    By the way, if you check on Dydy's ravelry, she also designed adorable cat amigurumis.


Meanwhile, if you are living in Indonesia, you like making amigurumi, and currently looking for a new place for your amigurumi, how about giving them to the children with cancer?  Poyeng is collecting 100 amigurumis for the young cancer patient. the deadline is 5 January 2016. There are still a lot of time to join this good cause, so please join :)

Looking for The Restart Button

I have stopped knitting for almost a year.
I never intended to stop permanently, but that's what happened.

So I moved back to my parents house, I packed my knitting tools and all the yarns.
And I haven't start to unpack after all this month.
I feel guilty if I start knitting when I haven't finished my animation.

By the way, I have a very creative sister, everyday I enviously watch her creating something (mostly using papers, but sometimes she crocheting too), please check her instagram to see her creations.

I knit something but haven't finished it, and I wonder if I ever finish it.

Bandung has cooler weather, which is better for playing with yarns,
I don't know if I would really start making things cause there's a lot of things to do, like unpacking.

I started knitting/ crocheting 7 years ago because my brother was getting married,
then I stop knitting/ crocheting 2 years ago because sister was getting married.
I hope it was just a myth, so I don't really stop knitting permanently.

I barely remember to update my blog, and actually I should have updated this blog 2-3 weeks ago but I got a deadline.

(it's kinda sad actually, after spending a year working with the same client and then it's over, but I'll move on)

2-3 weeks ago I received a newsletter from BOSF.
Nody is now a big boy, he has graduated from the forest school and he is ready to go to the pre-release island.  one step closer to be a free orangutan :)

Yes, I hired some extra hands and I put them at the top of the closet.
Once again, sorry, I'm unable to update this blog because of so many excuses.

I keep buying new yarns until my closet now are full of yarns, but I never knit anything, not anymore.
I WILL BE BACK. definitely not soon. but I will.

I think I'm gonna be Insane

I haven't write for too long, I haven't make any amigurumi for too long.
I'm gonna be insane.

I'm not the busiest person in the work, you see I still have time to blogging.
There's a new project in the office, and the schedule are changed so there are more work to do.
meanwhile, I still doing some freelance projects.

I still have time to make amigurumi but my hands are tired doing the job on the day.
My real job, my freelance job and making amigurumi, all are using both hands.
I'm not a spider, I only got a pair of hands.
well, I hope someday I can knit using my feet.

Oh by the way, I hired some extra hands recently.  will tell you later about it ;)

May the 2014 become a very prosperous year for all of us :)

Dear Reader, you might have noticed how I became unproductive blogger and crafter last year. it was actually because of my 2013 resolutions to be a real animator.  Not that I'm a fake animator, it was because I was so active in many craft event on 2012 and got some publications, I got no time to make an animation.  I was so shame of myself, to call myself an animator without making any animations.  So I dedicated my 2013 to make some animations and become an active animator.
as for the 2014, I think I'd like to continue what I was doing at 2013, which could mean less and less amigurumi :(
but i really hope I could get over through this knitting block.

Not another excuse, Des!

I don't know what happen to my knitting& crochet activity, except that I haven't do it for a long time.

when I was at work, I thought that it would be fun to crochet something instead of clicking the mouse.  But when I'm not at work, I don't knit too.

my new boarding house now have a TV with subscribed TV cable, I now could knit while watching Walking Dead. but:

1. The mosquitos love watching TV too.

2.  The TV is so old, everytime the walkers appeared, the TV turns dark.  (I'm old enough to watch gory stuff!).  Watching FOX Channel in HD is also useless, cause the problem is with the TV.

so I gave up on watching The Walking Dead *sigh.

Although I didn't pay for the AC, my room now is cooler than my last room, it's quite comfortable to knit inside the room.  but I don't.  I have a new toy named iPad. Before I got one, I thought, it would be easier for me to knit while looking at the pattern on my iPad.  yes, it's easier to look for a pattern, as well as a lot of application.  Long time before I'm a knitter, I was a gamer.  

I feel bad for the abandoned and unfinished amigurumi.... but I can't stop myself from playing games.

I made an animation about Lulu and the sheep at 2011.  If you read my zuperdzigh blog, then you can watch the animation there. Or you can also go to Hellofest 9 at Jakarta this year, cause Lulu is one of the animations which will be screened on the final round :)

Lulu is a 2D animation inspired by the amigurumi dolls.  so, yes it's a 2D not a stop motion though I really want to make a stop motion using my amigurumi.

and I made it!  I made a very short stop motion using my amigurumi.  I never published it anywhere else. So, don't miss it.  Only on Hellofest 9,  you can watch my first ever stop motion.  The title is "Simalakama" and it's one of the finalist for the 8 seconds movie category.

My Book lagiiii, My Book lagiii

TADAAAA! finally, I found my book! My first second book ever!  The first one is a comic book :p

ugly picture?  Don't worry, you'll get a half page of my picture inside this book :D

I'm the one writing this book but I didn't have the book yet.  this one on the picture is my dad's book.
oh it's a long story which began at early 2012, and I changed 3 laptop during the writing process.
it's pain in the "ass" (if you put your wallet in the back pocket of your pants).  But I'm glad it's finished.
so you know one of the reason I kinda neglected this blog for a very long time.

I just realize that it's not for a beginner since there's no basic tutorial. but you'll get some patterns (with diagram and explanation) and a lot of stories inside. it's in Bahasa Indonesia, by the way.

My iPad Case

I haven't did a crochet/ knitting project for too long.  I wanted to make an amigurumi but to refreshed my crochet skill, I'd like to try a more simple  project.

like trying some new crochet pattern.  So I browse my pinterest, looking at some pins I collected few months ago and found "larksfoot" pattern. 

and I thought making an iPad case using this pattern could be an interesting project.

the plan was to make a case full of larksfoot pattern, but later I add a face. so it's an amigurumi iPad case.

oh and by the way, it's called an iPad case, at least I designed an iPad case, but I actually have neither iPad or tablet yet. so it's actually a notebook case.

I'm moving ... again ... maybe

I'm living in a boarding house/ homestay, and the landlord sold the house.
so I'm moving again. maybe.
They said they will let me stay till november, but who knows?
I've been complaining a lot that I can't knit in my room, but this room has been my home for the last 22 months, of course I'm sad that I have to leave my home.
before this boarding house, I have been moving from one house to another house, from France to Indonesia, from Bandung to Jakarta. it's never easy to leave a place.
Not easy because I have to pack the small stuff, throwing useless things, picking which one to bring.
I haven't get a new place, but it has been a big dilemma when I was packing the yarns.

I might not having enough space to stack my yarns in my new room, but it would be ridiculous to live far from home without knitting/ crocheting.  And I love making amigurumis, means I need various color of yarns.  so wish me luck so I can find a wide space, cozy and affordable room.

Laziness Disguised as Creativity Block

No new picture since.... since I remember.
And I haven't knit nor crochet since.... since I remember.

at first I was busy doing many thing else, and now I'm just lazy having a creativity block.
I have some amigurumi picture that I haven't share because there's no picture.
wait.. I meant, I have some amigurumis but I haven't share the pictures cause I haven't take the picture.
There were a pair of amigurumis, I didn't have the time to take the picture, and now they are with my sister, who now live far away from me.
and there's a set of amigurumis that I haven't finish, I will never finish the set, and I haven't took any picture of them. they are somewhere in my messy room.  I'm too lazy to find them.

okay... gotta stop writing now and get back to my sketchbook and designing some amigurumi. for real.

Hi June!

almost a half of the 2013 has passed
I think I'm not as active as the past years, maybe because I'm getting older busy.
Again, I can't promise any update any soon.  My time is fully occupied by some personal project.
it's almost the fasting month for the moslems (starting July), which means I need to save money, by doing part time jobs.

During fasting month, I can't have lunch at the usual place cause it would be closed during the day which means I have to pay more for lunch.
and just forget about dinner, I also unable to buy food from the usual place cause it would be crowded.
and since it will be a holiday season in Indonesia, the prices are high.
Well of course because of the holiday, there would be a special bonus from the office.
But the worst thing is, I won't get it. Cause it's not my holiday.  I will receive my bonus at Christmas.  So it would be hard for me.

Crocheting new projects

I made a rule that I won't knit or crochet any project during workhours.

but there's no rule in drawing something like this :)

I didn't say blackberry

thankfully I have some spare time that I could update this blog before the end of January.
about the deadlines.
as predicted, it's not dead yet. it's a zombieline
I did work as fast as I could and they postponed the deadline again.
facing deadlines means there would be a lot of pressures, postponed the deadline didn't make perfection, it's only prolonged the pressure.
That's why I can't wait after the uncertain deadline I need to knit so badly.

it's not a big project, it's a mini project, and it's not even a new pattern,
there's no concept behind this amigurumi.  I just thought a black bird would be cute.

I just happy to see the color of the strawberries :)

it's just my personal opinion, nature and the sun give the best color in photograph, you don't even need any special effect.

deadline, undeadline, zombieline

I won't be available to update this blog for a while.
it's for a while because I want it to be a short period but it's not up to me.

So I'm having a deadline in my daily job as animator layout setter drafter office lady (?)
I hope it's a deadline, but who knows it might be an undead-line or zombie-line.
in the bright side, I also have another deadline in my freelance job.  (it's bright, cause I like the project).
and of course a deadline for a special amigurumi project.
the amigurumi project is almost done.  I've done all the knitting/ crocheting, I'm still collecting some property for the photo session.
but I can't upload it any soon, not before March :(

to make a new post in this blog, I have to finish the deadlines first then make another (not so special) amigurumi. when will it be? time will give you the answer.

what you didn't see at the TV:

1.  I just figured out that I have a brief case full of small amigurumis.  I spent 2 hours to display them at one table, and the first thing the cameraman said was, "I'd like to see the table cleared up, and you'll put the dolls one by one". *shocked!

 2. I already prepared the cup amigurumi the night before the shoot.

3. I was asked to make some kind of puppet theater, but I failed. acting is just not my thing :p
