IYC Festival 2012 at Thamrin Nine

My friend from Gondangdia Afterwork, Gazali (owner of Khaf Wooden Toys), was once again got a commission to make a placard for an annual event : Indonesian Youth Festival (IYC)
this year, he invited the whole Gondangdia Afterwork crew to join the Festival and opening a booth there.
I didn't come to the event, but some of my amigurumi and display from my cubicle shown at the booth.

Specially for this event, Gazali asked me to make some costume for his Dakochan toy.

it was a fun challenge that I have to design various costume, add some personality to the dakochans while keeping the uniqueness off the dakochan's shape.

from left to right :  Dakochan girl, Dakochan bee, Dakochan Afro, Dakochan Reggae, Dakochan bandit, French Dakochan.

You could order your own dakochan with custom costume too (specially made by me), the price starts from IDR 20000.  (How about a pair of dakochans for wedding cake ?) G is for Guguk

I love Guguk (dog, informal Bahasa)
so why didn't I pick Guguk for the letter G on my alphabet amigurumi series?

but no.. it's not a part of the alphabet series.
that would be too easy, too normal :p

it's always fun talking about dogs, at least for me
and it's really fun making a dog-amigurumi.
so it's really fun when Matt asked me to make a toy version of Taytay, his Chihuahua.
Her real name is Elizabeth Taylor.
(BTW, RIP Elizabeth Taylor, the actress, the famous lady Cleopatra)

Yo Yo Dieting Cats from the Mischief Champions

Have you ever read the Mischief Champions? (check it out, believe me, you'll like it)
there are a lot of odd drawings to make you happy , as it said for the site's tag line.
it's one of my must-see-weekly web, and sometimes I read it 3 times a week :p
Months ago, Katrin Hagen, the head behind the Mischief, commissioned me to transform one of her drawings into crocheted toy.
as you see, her realistic drawing style is totally different than mine (I never really made a realistic drawings!)
She kindly chose the Yo-yo dieting , which is the most simple drawing, to be transformed to crocheted toy.

there was some sketching and prototyping process, and finally it's done :)

of course, the umbrellas were only used for the photo session, the sun here was very strong :p
it was a really fun work, maybe next time I will make another toy based on her drawings too as a fan craft.
